How to Increase Speed of your Windows PC & Laptop

Speed is one of the important factor that one would like to have on their PC & Laptops the most and best. Problem of speed must be faced by many users in their windows OS here are few tricks and guidelines by following which one could improve the speed of their windows OS, of which users may not be aware. These are easy steps by which speed can be increased to a considerable level. Below mentioned are those tricks and guidelines which could benefit the users a lot.

Using option “Copy to folder” one is required to upgrade context menu.

In general users create a duplicate the file when they copy the file first paste it to clipboard, then paste the same by searching the target folder and paste the same there. In order to avoid this the above tip had been suggested by us by just simplifying the context menu.

Following steps are needed to be performed for creating above Command.

• Firstly users are required to open start menu and to search for “Regedit” on searching in all programs regedit.exe file would appear, users are then required to run it by right click and then to click on “Run as administrator” which may ask to enter administrator password.
• Then users would be required to navigate the tree structure that is  “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDirectoryshellex Context MenuHandlers”.
•  From there users are required to create new sub key “Copy To” by clicking on Edit>>New>>Key.
• Then users are required to double click on the value”(Standard)”.
• Then in the dialog “Edit string” users would be required to enter the GUID”(C2FBB630-2971-11d1-A18C-00C04FD75D13)” in value.
• Users are then required to search “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTAllFilesystemObjects shellex ContextMenuHandlers”  where users are required to again create “Copy To”, setting the standard value as given above GUID.
• After once you close the registry menu in the context menu users would be now able to see that files and folders had been extended to “Copy to folder”.

Thus you have successfully created the command in future when users select one or more files and then click on copy to folder then files would be directly copied to targeted folder by selecting the same on click.

users can also create “move to folder” command by adding subkey “Move To” in “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDirectoryshellex ContextMenuHandlers” and in “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTAllFilesystemObjectsshellex ContextMenuHandlers” respectively and then save the “(Standard)” value using “{C2FBB631-2971- 11d1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}”, thus move to folder would be created by the same in the context menu.

Select specific theme for the Windows welcome screen ( for Windows 7) which can be done by following the simple procedure mentioned below.

• One can change the background by clicking on the set as background command, but this is not supported for changing the welcome screen background.
• For that users would be required to use “Logon Screen” freeware by installing the same.
• While installing the same users are advised to uncheck the options for installing others programs in between which may even change the browsing settings.
• After once it had been installed successfully users are required to run it from start menu as Administrator in which again password may asked to enter.
• After running it from the logon screen dialog users would be able to effect the appearance of the texts and buttons with the help of “Advanced Display Settings” from where different options could be activated or deactivated by users.
• Besides this users could also customize the notification which appears on the display before log-in and could also change the background by clicking on the “open”.
• Then users would be required to click on close button for exit.

Set often used commands of the control panel directly in the start menu.

• This could be done by users by clicking on the control panel then to click on view select either small or big view.
• Then after users are required to drag and drop frequently used icons on the start menu and repeating the same procedure for every necessary commands.
• Thus now users could do quick access of frequently used command.

In text form view boot menu.

By performing the said tip one would be able to see Boot menu during the installations along with multiple OS. This can be done with the help of “Visual BCD Editor”. Firstly for this users would be required to install .NET framework in the first start which would be automatically handled by system whenever necessary. Then users in the next start of the “Visual BCD Editor”, “Display Boot Menu” would be missing by clicking on the “bootmgr”.

With a view to add this users would be required to click on “New” and then to add entry with the name “Display Boot Menu” conforming with the “Ok”.  The new logic value is still off which can be activated by clicking on the “Edit” and changing it to “true” and concluding the setting by clicking on “OK” button. This can be changed whenever user wishes to change by again clicking on the “False”, the configurations would be saved on closing the dialog box.

Add passkeys to the Wireless networks( for windows 7,8 and vista)

When the PC had been connected to a wireless local area network, one can add security to the network by right clicking on the network symbol in the task bar area and thus opening “Network and sharing Center”. Now users would be required to click on “Manage Wireless networks” and then to click on relevant wireless network following right click on it and selecting properties. Check the “Show characters”  and thus add the desired password.
